Cost sheets
A configurable sheet per item: material, labour, overhead and the lines you add yourself. It reads the bill of materials rather than asking you to retype it.

Every child cost times its raw quantity, summed up the tree. The item's own value shows as the variance, so you can see what the assembly adds on top of its parts.

Mixed currencies
Hold each cost in the currency it was quoted in and convert at read time. The quote keeps its original figure; the sheet still totals.
Cost snapshots
Freeze a costing into a labelled snapshot and compare snapshots against each other. Answering "what did this cost us in March" stops being an archaeology exercise.
