CAD assembly import
Use local exporters for Onshape, Inventor, Fusion and SOLIDWORKS to prepare a snapshot, then review it in the assembly's CAD tab. Each exporter includes setup instructions and defines the assembly types it supports.
In the APIImport assembly snapshots from Onshape, Inventor, Fusion and SOLIDWORKS. Review parts and quantities, keep source provenance, and route governed BOM changes through approval.

In the APIInspect matched and new parts, exact quantities and proposed BOM changes before importing. Imports opened from a record are restricted to that assembly, and omitted BOM lines are retained.
In the APIFor approval-required records, prepare a draft change request from the snapshot. Review and submit it through the usual workflow; the live BOM changes only after approval.
In the APIKeep source component identities and accepted import receipts alongside each record. Re-importing an identical accepted version is a no-op. Source history records what was imported; it is not a live connection to your CAD application.
In the APIMap supported properties into new parts with the Onshape and Fusion exporters. Review incoming values before applying; existing records keep their attributes. Destination field types and units must match.
In the APIAttach native CAD files in Documents while managing imported assembly structure in Compositions. File storage does not parse geometry or provide a CAD viewer, and exporters do not run background synchronization.
In the APIStart with your product model, connect the records, and bring your team into the same workflow.
